A Florida story
Dr. Benjamin J. Gubernick was born in Boston, Massachusetts, and moved to Florida with his family when he was just six months old. Raised in Palm City, he proudly considers himself a Florida native. From an early age, Dr. Gubernick knew he wanted to become a dentist, drawn to the unique combination of science, precision, artistry, and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on people’s lives.
Education and advanced training
After earning a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology from the University of Florida in 2011, Dr. Gubernick attended the prestigious University of Maryland School of Dentistry, where he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2015. He then completed a General Practice Residency at the Malcolm Randall VA Medical Center in Gainesville, Florida, receiving advanced postdoctoral training in restorative, surgical, and comprehensive dental care.

Today, Dr. Gubernick is proud to serve the Tampa community as part of the Flex Dental team. He is committed to providing exceptional, patient-centered care in a comfortable and welcoming environment. Understanding that every smile is unique, he takes the time to listen to his patients’ goals and develop personalized treatment plans that improve not only oral health but also confidence and overall well-being.
Clinical focus
Dr. Gubernick enjoys practicing all aspects of general dentistry and has extensive experience performing a wide variety of procedures. His clinical expertise includes restorative dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, Invisalign® clear aligner therapy, endodontic treatment, oral surgery, and preventive care. He believes in staying at the forefront of modern dentistry through continuing education, allowing him to offer current techniques and technology to his patients.
Professional involvement and community service
An active member of the American Dental Association, the Florida Dental Association, and the Academy of General Dentistry, Dr. Gubernick is dedicated to lifelong learning and clinical excellence. He also believes strongly in giving back to the community and has volunteered his time providing dental care through the St. Pete Free Clinic.
Life beyond the office
Outside the office, Dr. Gubernick has been happily married to his wife, Becky, for seven years. Becky is an Academic Advisor at the University of South Florida. Together they have two energetic sons, Jacob, age 5, and Jason, age 3, along with their lovable Goldendoodle, Griffin.
Family is at the center of Dr. Gubernick’s life, and he enjoys being actively involved in his sons’ athletic activities and cheering them on from the sidelines. When he is not caring for patients or spending time with his family, he enjoys discovering new restaurants, traveling, staying active, and making lasting memories with friends and loved ones.
